The EQE eLearning Resource Centre is provided by the European Patent Academy which is a part of the European Patent Office (EPO).

New : In association with the EPI and CEIPI, the European Patent Academy is proud to bring you a new training tool. This tool runs along with a case study, and will bring you through the decisions and consequences of these decisions that a student would need to consider when doing a EQE Paper A. In February 2010, a proposal for a possible format for such a pre-examination has been published on the EPO's website on the European qualifying examination, and a mock pre-examination has been organised. This proposal suggests an examination in the form of a multiple choice test. The European Patent Academy has now, for EQE training purposes, transformed the mock pre-examination into an electronic version,for stundents to test their legal knowledge and claim analysis skills. For the first time, we can provide this year a series of selected real answer papers to the EQE 2009 in a new secion of the Forum: Commented Answer Papers 2009. A number of candidates permitted us to use the answers they submitted at the examination. CEIPI provided experienced EQE tutors who added detailed comments for each of the selected papers.

• The EQE Study Guide, "European qualifying examination, Guide for preparation" brings together a wealth of advice, experience and information from a wide range of sources.
• The EQE-Forum includes A News & Announcement part as well as several different sections :
  • A section wherein candidates can post questions and which are moderated by experienced EQE tutors (Discussion of Examination papers)
  • A section with a series of exercises containing DI-type questions for candidates to answer (Discussion of Examination type questions) - a service provided in co-operation with DeltaPatents.
  • A section to cover basic patent law and a number of case studies for candidates to answer (General Topic Discussions).
  • In addition, we will again provide the Experts online service, which will be provided in co-operation with CEIPI-EQE tutors. For more information see EQE Expert online 2010 - in co-operation with CEIPI-EQE tutors.
• The EQE-Wiki, initiated for the preparation of the EQE 2009, has been moved to make it more accessible and it is hoped candidates will make more use of it. It is planned to move articles to this section after they have been discussed in the EQE-Forum.
• The EQE online training tool for the calculation of time limits (Time limit questions) allows candidates to answer questions in real time and provides correct solutions and explanations as well as indicating how long a candidate has taken to answer. Questions and answers are now available in all three official languages, extension is planned for PCT-related questions. Try selecting the same question twice - your answer will have to be different each time. You can further discuss the questions and their answers in the EQE-Forum under Time Limit Question Feedback in the section EQE News & Announcements.

To encourage participation in the Forum and the Wiki, the Academy is planning to award a number of small prizes which will be given to candidates who are judged to have made the best contributions in a number of areas.

The Academy is working with EPI and CEIPI to develop a number of eLearning modules for Papers A, B, C and DII. These will be made available as soon as possible. In the meantime, the case studies that will form the basis of some of the eLearning modules will be posted on the EQE-Forum to enable candidates to tackle new examination-like questions (Case Study Discussions in the General Topic Discussions area.).
